Camp SPEAK 2022

We have our first Camp SPEAK in the books! Camp SPEAK was held at Camp Twin Lakes Rutledge in September of 2022. Participants developed deep connections and gained knowledge that can be difficult to obtain elsewhere. For the participants, the modeling opportunity, seeing peers use their devices to open up their worlds and having everyone there to fully respect their way of communicating, was invaluable. For the parents, seeing other people be so proficient and independent with their devices and watching the others with their loved ones, was cathartic. Camp SPEAK will be back next year! Please keep an eye out for registration and join us in our mission to support children and their families who use communication devices while providing speech language graduate students the opportunity to experience supporting students who use AAC.
